2012 Maserati models line-up

December 15, 2011

2012 Maserati models see the introduction of the new GranTurismo MC, the ultimate road car with authentic racing genes as well as the GranTurismo Convertible Sport, the perfect choice for those looking for a sports-car handling with a top-down driving experience. Boosted with the Trident’s superb V8, 4.7-liter engine, the GranTurismo Convertible Sport delivers 444 hp and it features the Sporty Skyhook adaptive suspension system to provide superior handling. The MC auto shift transmission matches the sporty nature of the vehicle. Sportiness character is also convey by the vehicle styling: standard dark-look trim, new Astro Design 20” wheels, new M-Design seats with adjustable lumbar support in the front, carbon fiber options for the interior trim and steering wheel.

The new GranTurismo MC is derived from the Maserati Corse; the team developing the Trident marquee’s racing cars. The MC aerodynamic bodywork features a hood incorporating air extraction vents, new side skirts, an aggressive rear diffuser with two mounted exhausts centrally-mounted, single-rate suspension, street-tuned coil-over. With its 4.7-liter V8 engine delivering 444 hp the GranTurismo MC is the first of the carmaker’s existing models to break the 186 mph barrier.

The model line-up also includes the GranTurismo S Automatic and the Quattroporte, both recipients of several awards for combining sporting performance with unmatched elegance and luxury.

The GranTurismo S Automatic will continue to be the choice of drivers who prefer a coupe with stunning look, superior performance, sporty handling, luxurious interior and room for four adults. A new color has been introduced in the 2012 line-up, the Rosso Trionfale, special paintwork representing the Italian national red paint and featured on all racing Maserati during the 1950s. A true Grand Tourer, the GranTurismo S Automatic is capable of sprinting to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds and it is a true cross over between a real daily driver and thoroughbred sports car.

The 2012 Quattroporte will still be the luxury sedan for performances-oriented drivers: either the Quattroporte S than the Quattroporte Sport GTS S boost a 4.7-liter V8 engine with the last one to be considered the highest performance Quattroporte ever. The Sport GTS is equipped with a single-rate Sport suspension system, Sport exhaust with bypass valves, it sprints in 0 to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 177 mph.

Maserati has created several packages of the most popular options for the 2012 Quattroporte line, allowing customers to receive excellent value through significant savings over the individual option prices. The Premium Package, for example, equips a Quattroporte with painted Brembo brake calipers, Alcantara® headlining, interior upholstery with contrasting piping and stitching at a significant saving over the single components pricing line.
