Maserati Quattroporte Interiors & Multi Media System

February 22, 2011

The new Multi Media System developed with Bose® takes the concept of car entertainment to the highest level, thanks to its distinctive interface’s characteristics. It features a DVD player, .wav, .wma and .acc file reading, UMusic®, Music Library, display proximity sensors for functional controls, a special radio tuning system, unique personalization functions and IPod® Interface. The display proximity sensor automatically detects if the user is about to touch the right side control knob or ring and automatically enlarge the appropriate information menu in the display. The Umusic® function plays the user’s favorite tracks as previously memorized by the system. The driver can also use voice controls to display the menu or scroll through chapters or tracks. The Bose® Surround Sound System has been acoustically engineered for the Quattroporte providing first class sound quality in terms of depth, clarity and tone in the entire Maserati cabin.

The automatic dual-zone climate control system maintains confortable conditions inside the cabin by automatically adjusting the interior temperature and ventilation in relation to the outdoor temperature, sunlight intensity and air humidity. The system is also equipped with an anti-misting sensor: if glass temperature drops below the point when glass surfaces begin to fog, it automatically acts to reduce the air humidity. The rear seats will benefit as well from the ideal climate control thanks to the six vents located on the back. The passengers seating on the back have also the option to set their own ventilation rates.

Other standard electronic features installed on the Maserati Quattroporte include the Light Sensor that monitor the amount of lights in the surrounding environment and switches the headlights on and off accordingly, and the Rain Sensor that automatically activate the wipers when raining adjusting their speed based on its intensity. All Quattroporte comes with Cruise Control, an anti-theft system, volumetric ultrasound sensors, perimeter protection and an alarm hidden in the engine compartment, plus an automatic door locking. Tire pressure sensors, electro chromatic interior and exterior rearview mirrors and rear parking sensors are also standard, while the front parking sensors are optional.

The ultimate care and attention is lavished on the interior detailing of the Quattroporte to deliver the very best Italian craftsmanship. Quattroporte interiors are upholstered in the finest leather from Poltrona Frau® which hand finishing processes create leather that is soft and snug in winter, yet cool and comfortable in summer. Infinitive color combinations can be chosen for the Maserati Quattroporte interiors: six different types of wood, solid interior finishes in Piano Black or Blue Lack, an optional Alcantara roof lining in four different variances and different colors for tge upper dashboard, rear shelf and stitching.

Maserati GranTurismo Safety Standards

February 5, 2011

Maserati strives to produce cars with high safety engineering and performance standards, power, versatility, handling and elegance. Feeling secure and comfortable on the road, actively contributes to the pleasure of driving. The electronic power steering provides the right grip at high speed but it provides a light and comfortable steering at lower speed. Brembo brakes offer optimal stopping power thanks to the four perforated self-ventilating discs with fixed calipers with four pistons. The exclusive Maserati Stability Program (MSP) stability control includes ABS, EBD and ASR. The Tire pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) constantly check the tire pressure whether the Adaptive Light System turns the headlights in the car direction when turning on curves. The 2011 Maserati GranTurismo featured also the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB).

A quick, precise steering control helps improve comfort and safety on board of the Maserati GranTurismo and also provide an enjoyable drive. The electronic interlocking system, in fact, allows adapting the action of the steering wheel to the speed and road conditions, giving the driver a true feel for the road both at high speeds and lower speeding maneuvering. Thanks to the optimal weight distribution of the Maserati GranTurismo, the road holding and grip under acceleration are excellent. Higher safety standards are also guaranteed by the decisive braking capacity of the Brembo system with four perforated and self-ventilating discs. The Maserati Stability Program is a stability control system designed to optimize the car’s dynamic and safety capabilities on the road. The system has a series of sensors that detect anomalies in the dynamic behavior of the vehicle and helps to stabilize the vehicle and provide control. The MSP is designed to recognize the onset of skidding and stabilize the car in milliseconds, prevent the wheels from locking under braking (ABS), distribute the braking force between the front and rear axles to prevent the rear wheel from locking (EBD), prevent the drive wheels from spinning on low-grip surfaces and from locking when down shifting. With the EPB on the new Maserati GranTurismo, the driver can easily put the parking brake by using an electronic control on the console, rather than activated the traditional mechanic lever. In emergency situations, the Electronic Parking Brake acts on the four wheels getting an immediate braking action until the proper control is released. To easier starts hills roads, the Maserati GranTurismo features the Hill Holder, a device that keeps the vehicle braked for just over one second to avoid the car from rolling back when the driver moves his/her foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal.

Among the passive safety standards, the Maserati GranTurismo incorporates a body built using a new load-bearing body system, six airbag system, electronic controlled pretensions’ seatbelts, rear Isofix attachments and an inertia switch that deactivate the fuel pumps to reduce the fire possibilities in case of a violent collision.
